It detects when you've sent too much power for too long and shuts down until it's safe again to turn the speaker back on.

Installation will be easy for you with standardize dog-ear mounting tabs. All you need to do is use the provided template to cut a simple hole in the drywall and 4 screws later, you'll have the family dialed in for Home Theater action.

All come with paintable white
grills with easy to install tab type (dog ear) mounting. Included in
the box will be a cutout template to make a perfect easy drywall cut to
install your new speakers. Just hook up the wires and screw the clamps
integrated on the speaker, insert the grill and turn it up!
But wait, we have to warn you about one little detail that most companies won't tell you. Don't worry, it's good news. Initially, the speakers will sound a little flat or hard in the bottom end. This is because of the internal suspension that comes a little rigid and needs to sort of "stretch it's legs" for a little while. After about 3 or 4 weeks things open up and you'll begin to notice enhanced bass and deeper lows.
This 8" version will provide you with more bass than a standard 6 1/2" to help keep up with your demanding higher volume needs.
